Announcement of a new managing partner at accounting firm Albert Goodman
A NEW Managing Partner will take the reins of a popular accounting firm from May 2022.
Albert Goodman, headquartered in Tauntonannounced that managing partner Richard Bugler will step down after six years.
The firm’s new successor and current partner, Ian McVicar, will take over from May 1.
Richard was trained at Albert Goodman and rose through the ranks, becoming Managing Partner in 2016.
He grew the business year on year, promoted the board to include 50% women and invested in new premises in Weymouth, Weston-super-Mare and Taunton.
He will continue to work for Albert Goodman as a partner, focusing on corporate finance.
“I spent 28 wonderful years at Albert Goodman, from my internship to growing the business into one of the largest accounting firms in the South West,” said Richard.
“I hope that my professional journey is a source of inspiration for our young apprentices who are at the start of their career.
“Anything is possible if you are dedicated, passionate about helping clients reach their full potential, and possess good leadership qualities.”
“Working with Iain over the years has been wonderful and very rewarding, seeing him grow personally and professionally.
“I’m confident he’ll do very well and I’m excited to see where he takes Albert Goodman over the next six years.”
Ian is currently a partner in the agricultural estates team. It plans to honor the company’s five-year commitment to grow the business and its goal of becoming net zero by 2030.
Ian added: “I know I have big shoes to fill as Richard is highly respected in the area for many reasons and he has done a great job of putting Albert Goodman on the map.
“The company is in great shape to take over the reins and it seems to me that the time has come for me personally to step up to the position of managing partner and to use all my experience.
“Helping businesses in the South West is my number one priority, and I’m grateful to have an amazing team behind me to help with all of their accounting needs.
“From apprenticeship level to associates within the firm, I am fortunate to work with a team that has so much experience and a real passion for continuing Richard’s legacy.”
