BSEB Bihar Board 12th Exam 2022: Paper Pattern

The Bihar Board examination syllabus has been reduced by 30% for Science, Commerce and Arts streams due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The theoretical tests for science students will be 70 points and the practical tests 30 points. The Arts and Commerce tests will be worth 100 points each. The jury tests will include both long-answer questions and multiple-choice questions (MCQs).

BSEB has increased the number of objective questions in the document for each stream. Class 12 Science Subjects including Entrepreneurship, Computing, Multimedia and Web Technology, Psychology, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Home Science, Agriculture, Education physics and yoga, will have 35 MCQs.

BSEB Class 12 Business and Arts subjects including Accounting, Business Studies, Economics, Mathematics, History, Sociology, Political Science and Philosophy will have 50 MCQs. While professional documents including English, Hindi, Sanskrit, Bengali, Bhojpuri, Maithili, Urdu and other languages will have 35 MCQs.

Scale

The grading system for intermediate exams has also been revised this year by the Bihar board to help students achieve a better overall result in their exams. In case of failure of a student in a compulsory subject, the marks obtained in the additional subject will be taken into account for the preparation of the result. There are a total of 5 papers in the board exam, including two compulsory language papers – Hindi and English.

Exam Eligibility Criteria

Students in class 12 will need to score at least 33% in council exams to obtain a certificate of achievement.

They will have to mark the minimum marks separately in the theoretical and practical documents. In the case of the theory tests, even those who obtain 30% of the marks will pass the test.

Those who do not achieve the minimum passing grades in one or two subjects will be required to sit for a compartmentalized exam to improve their performance.

Scope of improvement, review

Students who fail more than two subjects will have to sit for the exam next year. They will not receive the Class 12 Certificate of Completion or Transfer Certificate until they have passed.

If a candidate feels they should have been awarded more points, they may request a re-evaluation of their answer sheet.
