The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources finally approved the business plan for the 2021-2030 electricity supply of PLN (RUPTL). A copy of the RUPTL can be downloaded from the PLN website here.

This long-awaited RUPTL marks a crucial milestone for PLN. For the first time, the majority of power generation projects to be developed are renewable energy projects, representing 51.6% of the 40,575 MW of power generation projects. The RUPTL also allocates a larger share to independent power producers (IPP) in the development of electricity production projects.

The new RUPTL also sets out, among other things, PLN’s strategies to reduce the effects of greenhouse gases, and its goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2060, which is the policy adopted by the current administration in accordance with the Paris Agreement of the UNFCCC.
