Kwasi Kwarteng ‘thrilled’ to host Spelthorne Business Plan Competition again
With many of the coronavirus restrictions we have all had to live with easing, it has been great to see so many businesses in Spelthorne, Surrey become profitable again.
Conditions are inevitably different from what they were before the pandemic, and I was interested to see how companies have adapted many of the ways they operate.
After a difficult time, now is the time to think about new opportunities and I am delighted to be able to host the Spelthorne Business Plan Competition again this year.
The competition, which I initially launched in 2013, showcases some of the borough’s best talent and innovative ideas and is open for applications until August 16.
The top six entries will have the opportunity to present their ideas to a panel of expert judges, with the winner receiving £ 3,500 in cash prizes to launch their business with the mentorship of local business leaders.
Local entrepreneurs can also take advantage of the Spelthorne Business Hub, which opened in June. The hub, the very first business incubator in our region, will provide a creative home for entrepreneurs to develop their ideas.
With an exciting range of business support, the hub will help young entrepreneurs create real business impact and generate new opportunities for the future.
I look forward to seeing the results of the Business Plan Competition and the Business Center, both of which will help develop the new ideas we need to better rebuild from the impact of the pandemic.
