Lions check out Skyy Moore and Kaleb Eleby on West Michigan pro day
Even with the free agent frenzy that began on Monday, the Detroit Lions continued to do their due diligence for the 2022 NFL Draft. Michigan for Broncos prospects.
Western Michigan has two top prospects for 2022: WR Skyy Moore and QB Kaleb Eleby. Moore is a 5-11 dynamo who can play inside or outside. He did not practice, opting to keep his combined NFL scouting practice numbers. But Moore ran routes and caught passes from Eleby.
The quarterback did practice drills, unofficially clocked at 4.84 by a scout present in the 40-yard dash. His exit speed on throws stood out and the passing drills reinforced the high accuracy he showed on the game board.
Moore is usually thrown in the second or third round, while Eleby is entered a few rounds later.
Two other Broncos for Lions fans to watch are likely undrafted free agents. EDGE Ali Fayad has bagged 13 sacks in 2022 and has good finishing power. He weighed only 248 pounds and yet didn’t have a good drive (32 vertical inches, 4.82 40 yards per scout).
Offensive lineman Mike Caliendo was a five-year starter with experience at both guard and center. He thrived during the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl and has the smarts and strength in the running game to earn a priority free agency look from Detroit.
