KUALA LUMPUR: Maxis Bhd’ eKelas Usahawan has successfully trained over 1,000 entrepreneurs in 2021 to help them develop a stronger digital presence.

The phone company said eKelas Usahawan is Maxis’ community outreach program aimed at women entrepreneurs, especially from B40 communities, to equip them with digital tools and skills to help them in their respective businesses.

The program includes a series of digital workshops with a hands-on, hands-on approach to equipping entrepreneurs through modules that include basic marketing tips and skills, digital photography, copywriting and marketing campaign planning and advertising via online and social media platforms.

“We are really pleased to see this program gaining momentum since our launch last year and, above all, benefiting many women entrepreneurs. We’ve seen firsthand how they’ve leveraged basic digital marketing skills for their business.

“This is what eKelas Usahawan is all about, and we want to see more women across the country enroll in the program this year,” Mariam Bevi Batcha, director of general affairs, said in a statement.

Maxis is also in talks with potential partners to ensure that more entrepreneurs, especially women, benefit from the program.
