New growth for DJH Mitten Clarke with the acquisition of Walsall
Growing accounting firm DJH Mitten Clarke has announced its third acquisition in the past 12 months.
The deal has seen the company add Walsall, Bakers Chartered Accountants, to the group, providing an opportunity to further expand DJH Mitten Clarke’s client base in the Midlands.
It is the latest move by the Stoke-on-Trent-based company, which has grown 90% since March 2021 and is now among the top 50 accountancy firms.
Leading the 275-strong team – after the addition of 20 from Bakers – is group chief executive Scott Heath.

Scott said: “Over the past 12 months we have experienced incredible growth and the latest acquisition is the next step in our journey to achieve our ambitious goals.
“The partnership with Bakers will strengthen our presence in the West Midlands, becoming an important office for our group.”
He added: “When we met with the directors of Bakers, we immediately connected, setting us up for a great relationship and partnership going forward.”
Walsall will remain the base of the Bakers team and will become the group’s West Midlands office.
Bakers director Phil Taylor will continue to lead the Bakers team alongside fellow director John Davis.
Phil said: “After 100 years in business, the decision to partner with DJH Mitten Clarke is good for our business.
“This will allow us to expand the services we provide to our clients and create growth opportunities for our team.”
The acquisition of Bakers follows what DJH Mitten Clarke describes as “an exceptional 12 months” which began with the merger of well-known Staffordshire practices Mitten Clarke and DJH in March.
This was closely followed by the acquisitions of Chester-based Morris & Co in April and Manchester-based Lloyd Piggott in July.
