FARMINGTON – New Ventures Maine has called for applications for Venturing Forth: Business Planning for Entrepreneurs, its free online course which begins January 26.

For new entrepreneurs or existing business owners, Venturing Forth helps businesspeople create a written business plan from start to finish with feedback from facilitators and fellow entrepreneurs. The 14 week course covers topics such as client, competition, marketing, record keeping, taxes, financing and legal aspects.

Classroom activities, guest speakers, and homework assignments lead to the business plan and roadmap for success. This comprehensive course includes three follow-up networking sessions. Individuals must complete an online application and attend an orientation and one-on-one interview to participate in this tuition-free course.

Anyone with a business idea or a current business is welcome. The 60-hour course also earns three pass / fail credits from the University of Maine at Augusta upon approval of a completed business plan.

Applications must be sent by Tuesday January 18 at noon at the latest and are available online. The Venturing Forth class will meet via Zoom on Wednesdays January 26 through April 27.

For more information, contact Karleen Andrews (207-557-1885 or [email protected]) or Gigi Guyton ([email protected]) at New Ventures Maine or access the information online.
