Soul Fire Food Co. expands operations to permanent storefront
TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – A mobile food truck expands its activities to a permanent storefront.
The Soul Fire Food company plans to continue serving grills in the southeast of Topeka.
You used to find the Soul Fire Food Company in their mobile food truck in the dollar general parking lot southeast of 25th Street.
The now married duo Tim and Ambroja Watson are set up in a storefront across the street.
“Part of our business plan was to be consistent and stick to it. In doing so, it worked, we were forced to develop, ”Ambroja said.
“It’s really just the support of the community and the demand for the right food and the right barbecue. Tim did a really good job trying to maintain the small spaces that we were using and using, ”Ambroja explained. “So for us being in this building right now is like a breath of fresh air in so many ways. “
Ambroja says customers can look forward to favorite dishes, as well as new additions and products from other small businesses.
“We really want to support small businesses. We are looking to really increase the availability for our local contractors, ”added Ambroja. “This space that you see right now, we’ll make it available for small business meetings, wedding parties, baby shower, things of that nature. We will therefore not dine in his space. we will only keep it to take away. So the hours when we are not open we will have availability for rental.
The family business wanted to stay in the region where they live.
“Well, we serve where we live – that’s definitely something that encourages us back home. We live in a HI-Crest neighborhood and what better place than right across from where we were, ”Ambroja stressed.
“The South East side is definitely something close to our hearts, like I said we are residents of HI-Crest. This particular community has been very supportive, ”she explained.
In addition, there will be plenty of food for everyone to enjoy.
“We won’t sell as soon as we get in the truck. It was one of the biggest and best challenges as a business, is that we were selling on the truck all the time, so we will not sell as fast as before, ”he said. she pointed out. “We have the option of continuing to cook for a little longer and revisit what we need to do with our product, so we’re delighted. “
Soul Fire Food’s new location is 2511 Southeastern California Ave. The official opening will take place from July 2-3.
The company will keep the food truck for private events and may return it to a full schedule once the restaurant is full.
