Tyson Fury flight: Boxer denied entry to US due to links to Daniel Kinahan
World heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has been denied entry to the United States tonight due to his former ties to crime boss Daniel Kinahan.
It is believed that the WBC title holder was barred from entering the country earlier this evening by US immigration authorities.
Last month, Garda Assistant Commissioner John O’Driscoll confirmed that more than 600 people with links to the Kinahan chief have been barred from entering the United States by US authorities.
Speaking during a trip to the United States, Mr O’Driscoll said sanctions prohibiting travel to the United States had been imposed on several hundred people because of their links with the Kinahan, including a large number involved in professional boxing.
“Businesses associated with boxing in particular, and its ties to the United States, are under particular scrutiny from US authorities,”
The 600 list includes a slew of boxers who aren’t involved in crime, like Tyson Fury, but have worked with Daniel Kinahan in his capacity as a promoter or manager.
Fury is the second former top MTK Global graduate to find out at the last minute that he won’t be allowed to board a flight in the United States.
In April, Sky Sports pundit and former friend of Daniel Kinahan, Matthew Macklin, was barred from traveling to the United States because of his links to the crime boss.
The former world title contender was on his way to Las Vegas this week to cover a senior featherweight unification bout between Shakur Stevenson and Oscar Valdez.

However, he was not allowed to board his flight at a London airport as US authorities scrutinized anyone with past or present links to Kinahan.
Sky Sports declined to comment on Macklin’s denial of entry into the United States, but told Sportsmail in a statement: “Matthew Macklin discontinued his interest in MTK in 2017 and has had no business relationship with Daniel Kinahan. from.”
Tyson Fury, who was previously advised by the Dublin-born mob boss, also said he was not involved with him when asked if they had any business together.
“Zero, absolutely zero,” he exclaimed.

“It’s none of your business or anyone else’s, I don’t think.” That’s it ? said Fury.
“My business is my business, your business is yours.”
MTK Global, the boxing promotions company founded by Daniel Kinahan in 2012, has also ceased operations citing “unprecedented levels of scrutiny and unfair criticism”.
It happened just a day after Bob Yalen stepped down as CEO for “personal reasons”.
Legendary promoter Bob Arum previously revealed he paid millions in consulting fees to Daniel Kinahan for fights involving Tyson Fury.
Arum recently revealed he paid Kinahan over $1 million for each of Fury’s four fights against Tom Schwarz, Otto Wallin – as well as his two fights with Deontay Wilder.
Veteran boxing promoter Arum, who founded the Top Rank promotion company in Las Vegas, acts as Fury’s promoter in the United States.
BT Sports screened Fury’s fights in the UK, but insists they have no commercial connection to Arum or Top Rank.
But now the company would now do “increased due diligence” on previous dealings around the boxer.
Fury and UK promoter Frank Warren have maintained they had no knowledge of or involvement in Arum’s payments to Kinahan and there is no suggestion of wrongdoing on the part of either. .
